# Data and source-derived material

There is no single blanket licence for every file in this research workspace. [CODE_LICENSE](CODE_LICENSE) covers project-authored software; it does not relicense upstream data, mappings, papers or third-party content. Source-derived outputs retain the applicable source terms. A merge does not make a restrictive component inherit a more permissive component's licence.

| Component | Applicable source terms and notice |
| --- | --- |
| Anthropic Economic Index data | The repository README specifies **CC-BY**, with no version stated. Credit Anthropic and the particular release, preserve the original grant and identify adaptations. The README separately licenses code under MIT. |
| O*NET database and O*NET Resource Center mappings | CC BY 4.0; USDOL/ETA attribution, source/version, licence link, identification of changes and no endorsement. |
| ESCO data and typed ESCO–O*NET mapping | European Commission general CC BY 4.0 reuse policy unless otherwise indicated; retain ESCO/Commission and collaborating USDOL/ETA attribution. |
| ONS/NOMIS data and title-index mappings | Open Government Licence v3.0; retain Crown copyright/ONS attribution and identify transformations. |
| Eurostat data | Eurostat's reuse terms, subject to its third-party exceptions; identify source tables, extraction date and changes. |
| ILO theoretical exposure values | CC BY 4.0 from Working Paper 140; retain the required citation and full adaptation disclaimer in the attribution file. |
| OECD AI Capability Gap values | CC BY 4.0 explicitly stated in the source workbook; retain OECD citation and identify modifications. |
| OpenAI/Eloundou repository material | MIT notice in [THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES/openai_gpts_MIT.txt](THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES/openai_gpts_MIT.txt), plus O*NET attribution for embedded O*NET content. |
| PIAAC aggregate research outputs | PIAAC-specific terms require keeping respondent-level PUFs private. Nonidentifying aggregate reporting is permitted with the required OECD acknowledgement; CSV and revised CSV-ZIP PUFs are excluded. |

The detailed evidence and source URLs are in [docs/licences.md](docs/licences.md); the operative package filters are in [docs/release_permissions.md](docs/release_permissions.md). Required attribution and no-endorsement notices appear in [THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES/ATTRIBUTION.md](THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES/ATTRIBUTION.md). The manifest records the provenance and treatment of individual files.

NFER permits specified noncommercial research/private/internal uses but requires written permission for other distribution/publication. No open redistribution licence was verified for IBS or Felten mapping/score compilations, or the copied CBP chart compilation. Those raw files and mapping/score-vector derivatives remain outside the unrestricted public subset. Original aggregate research findings can be reported with source citations without bundling the underlying compilations. No permission or endorsement from those sources is claimed.

The public subset does not contain the private original roadmap, respondent records, copied full source papers, or the excluded occupation vectors. New combined outputs must be reviewed by component; dropping source names alone is not a sufficient filter. The included figures and values are project adaptations, subject to the methodological limitations in the README and reports.

## Global statistical inputs

ILOSTAT occupation-employment aggregates retain their ILO/source attribution and CC BY4.0 terms, with national source notes, ICLS definitions and observation periods. UNSD M49 factual geography metadata is credited to its source; project names/extra source geographies and transformations are documented. See THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES/ATTRIBUTION.md and MANIFEST.csv for source-specific attribution.

US BLS National Employment Matrix: public US government statistical data, attributed to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The frozen numeric extraction retains original codes, 2025 base-year employment tokens, source URL and hash. Our calculations and labels are independent; no BLS endorsement is implied.
