ML Assessment
This is the end-of-course assessment. You do it in groups. The question paper, the data and the starter notebook appear here when the window opens. Your group works together within the window, then one of you comes back to upload your two files before the deadline.
The rules
- AI tools and the internet are allowed. Use them as you would on the job.
- Work only within your group. Do not share anything with another group, and do not look at another group’s work.
- Your notebook must say how your group used AI. The starter notebook has a cell for this. Fill it in honestly, even if the answer is “we did not use AI”.
- You may resubmit as often as you like. The last valid upload before the deadline is the one we mark. Earlier ones are kept but not used.
- Submissions close at 17:30 (London time). The server enforces this, with a short grace period for upload delays.
What to prepare
Get set up before the window opens, so your group does not lose time at the start.
- A working Python setup with Jupyter (for example Anaconda, or a virtual environment), with pandas, numpy, scikit-learn and matplotlib installed.
- Or a free Google Colab account, which needs no install and runs in the browser.
- Room for a small download. The data files are a few megabytes in total.
- A stable internet connection for downloading the materials and uploading your answers.
- This page open in a modern browser. Keep the tab open while you submit.
The window is open. Enter your group ID to unlock the materials. Do the assessment together within the window, then upload your two files here. Read every section once before you start.
1 Identify your group
Enter the group ID I sent you. You submit once per group, and any member of your group may upload.
2 Download the materials
Download all five files now, before you start. You may use AI tools and the internet while you work. You may not ask anyone outside your group to help you or to check your work.

3 Upload your answers
The submission window has closed
The deadline of 17:30 (London time) has passed, so this page will not send a new submission. Your last valid upload before the deadline is the one we mark. The materials above stay available for reference.
If your group uploaded successfully before the deadline, you are done. If you have a
genuine problem (for example an upload that failed right on the deadline), email both
files to straight away with the subject line
ML ASSESSMENT SUBMIT <your group ID>, and
explain what happened.
When your group is done, upload your executed notebook and your predictions file below. Each file is checked on this page before you submit. Fix anything marked with a cross before you continue.

4 Submit
