Claude Occupation Evidence is an independent research project by Fatih Kansoy. It studies how published Claude use can be interpreted across countries and occupational classifications, with particular attention to the statistics and research questions used in Europe and the United Kingdom.
The project brings together measurement research and a public data resource. Its purpose is to make occupational patterns easier to examine, classification assumptions easier to audit and regional extensions easier to develop.
Independence and attribution
This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic. Claude and the Anthropic Economic Index are the work of Anthropic. The project's transformations, interpretations and methodological proposals are independent.
The underlying sources include the Anthropic Economic Index; O*NET from the US Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration; ESCO from the European Commission; and official statistical sources including ONS/Nomis, Eurostat, ILOSTAT, BLS and OECD PIAAC. Source attribution, vintages and transformations accompany the datasets. Their inclusion does not imply endorsement by their producers.
There is no blanket licence covering every source-derived file. Dataset-specific terms govern reuse, including the required attribution and identification of adaptations. Restricted source vectors and respondent-level survey records are excluded from public downloads. For PIAAC aggregates, the required acknowledgement is: Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Paris.
What is available
The website presents an occupation explorer, a geography inventory, measurement and validation pages, a full research paper and a dataset catalogue. The primary occupation evidence covers April and May 2026 consumer observations. Earlier weekly task observations remain separate diagnostics.
The site distinguishes the observation period, publisher release and project build. A recent website date does not mean that the usage observations are equally recent. The analysis uses a frozen source snapshot so that readers can recover the evidence behind a displayed result.
Research status
The manuscript and data document descriptive findings and their scientific limits. The exact reconstruction of Anthropic's exposure score has not passed its prespecified gate. European mapped means are not national usage shares. Prospective allocation methods, regional partnerships and labour-market impact analyses are described as future research.
Publication support is displayed through its components rather than treated as a validated ranking of national data quality. New data and methods require source inspection and scientific review before they become part of the displayed results.
Corrections and collaboration
Useful contributions include a reproducible data correction, an occupational mapping review, an independent validation dataset or a regional research design. A correction should identify the country or occupation, observation period, selected measure and the evidence supporting the proposed change.
